Byrd was allegedly yelling at other passengers, and the person he got into the argument with tried to calm him down. But that was when he allegedly pulled the blade.

Online records say Byrd was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and he was being held on $5,000 bond.

Byrd also has a domestic violence warrant.

Byrd is perhaps best known for his game-winning catch with one second left against Auburn in 2007. LSU was trailing 24-23 when Matt Flynn found him for a 22-yard score. The Tigers would go on to win that year’s national championship.

Byrd was a touted NFL prospect but fell to the seventh round after suffering serious injuries in a car wreck just a week before the draft.

He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers but never saw the field.

In 27 games with the Tigers, he caught 72 passes for 1,134 yards and 11 touchdowns.
