Lynda Carter, famous for her role as Wonder Woman, publicly spoke out against her sister Pamela Carter’s campaign for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives. In an interview with Mother Jones on Friday, Carter made it clear she does not support her sister’s candidacy or any future political ambitions.
The remarks were featured in an exposé on Pamela Carter, a far-right Republican candidate running for a seat in Maricopa County. Her platform includes opposition to same-sex marriage, abortion in most cases, and transgender inclusion in sports. She also advocates for arming teachers.
Pamela Carter has not yet responded to requests for comment. Meanwhile, Lynda Carter has voiced her support for the Democratic candidates running against her sister, Kelli Butler and Karen Gresham, in Arizona’s Legislative District 4.
The district, which currently has one Democratic and one Republican representative, is a competitive battleground.
Lynda Carter also took the opportunity to praise the late Arizona Senator John McCain for his dedication to values like “decency, justice, and freedom.”
